Charles Baughan - Technology
Charles is that rare breed of engineer that has social skills. Or shall we say that he is that rare social animal that has engineering skills? Either way, Charles is a true visionary that has made a career by challenging the status quo.
Charles has never really had a 9-5 job as far as we can tell. In his early 20s he bought and ran several Domino Pizza franchises on the east coast of the U.S. In that time, he chaired the international strategy for Domino’s, but he had a true hankering for tinkering with technology, so he sold his franchises and went back to school to get his M.S. in Computer Science. Bumping into a few friends, they started a hosted application business that eventually morphed into a cloud control panel.
Charles loves to kayak, work on the “back forty” and solve complex technology problems. One thing you wouldn’t guess about Charles: He once played professional soccer and to this day still plays competitive soccer weekly.
Phil Glaeser - Operations
Give Phil a problem and he will own it, give him a solution and he will challenge it. Phil spent the majority of his career cleaning up other people’s messes.
An IBMer at heart (trust us you can put the IBM into a person, but good luck trying to deprogram their IBM ways), he has worked for Bank of America & Wells Fargo integrating systems, but most people don’t know that he is an engineer with an MBA. Some might say that’s geek squared and we would agree.
Phil is our "jack of all trades" and thus serves as our Chief of Operations (plus he's the man in charge of all things money). If not at work, you can find Phil on his bike or in a campsite waiting for the sun to come up so he can go bike. One thing you wouldn’t guess about Phil: He is a competitive curler.
Frank Houghton - Vision
If you meet Frank, he will tell you right away “don’t tell me it can’t be done, if we put a man on the moon, we can do anything here on Earth”. That’s because Frank believes obstacles are self-created.
Frank started working at 11 picking cucumbers on a farm in rural New England for the county sheriff. That winter he started a snow removal service and realized the freedom it gave him to choose his customers. Since then he has either founded or co-founded six businesses.
Though Frank fancies himself a career entrepreneur, he did work for others in-between ideas. During those periods (other than a few fun college gigs) he spent most of that time in global sales and business development roles.
A consummate visionary, Frank serves as our CEO.
Outside of work, Frank enjoys traveling, the ocean, martial arts and riding his bike. One thing you wouldn’t guess about Frank: he is a vegetarian, but several years ago he wouldn’t have guessed that either.
Peter Melerski - CRO
When Peter walks in a room, you will know he is there, not because he is tall, German or that he can command a room, but because he is an tax consultant that has an infectious sense of humor. Yes, believe us – it’s true!
Peter may be funny, but his career has been anything but funny. In fact, he spent most of his career taking on the German equivalent of the IRS (we are not sure they appreciated his humor). He last served as a Managing Partner and Management Board and Advisory Board member at Ernst & Young.
By managing all of our relationships, Peter serves as our very own “Harvey Specter” (but has way more integrity than good ole’ Harvey). You want a “win-win”, call Peter, he is eager to fill out our all-star partner roster.
Peter enjoys everything music and all things wine. He listens to nearly anything that has a melody, but will not drink just anything. One thing you wouldn’t guess about Peter: He is an avid guitar player and once moved to Vienna to learn how to play the piano.
Talent
Are you the best at what you do? Credentials are impressive, but they don’t tell us the real story about you. We want to know you and why you would think you are a good fit here at Honey. We look for people who have that overwhelming drive inside to do something they are not yet certain what it is. If you can sum up that feeling in one sentence or why you would be a great fit at Honey (use semicolons liberally if need be) don’t hesitate to reach out, we would love to hear from you!
